Hightail Error Codes
Error Code 120
Error 120 indicates that there may be a transitional glitch on one of the servers containing the file you are attempting to access. If you encounter this error message when attempting to download or upload files, please try again in a few minutes and the problem should be cleared.
Error Code 121
Most customers receive error code 121 when trying to create a New Folder in their Hightail Accounts. These steps may be taken as a workaround that may resolve the problem:
- Try refreshing the browser
- Clear the cache and cookies
- Log out from the Hightail Account
- Close the browser, re-open it, and then log back again to create a new Folder and see if this resolves the problem.
- Try a different browser - Log into Hightail and try creating a new Folder to check if that solves the problem.
Error Code 124
Error 124 when trying to upgrade account.
The reason why an error code 124 will come up when trying to upgrade your Hightail account is because the current account that you have will not allow you to do so.
You will have to cancel your current Hightail account and then upgrade to the desired account.
If you have just been charged for your account, then you will have to contact us in order to get a prorated charge for the upgraded account.
Error Code 184
Error code 184 indicates that there may be a transitional glitch on one of the servers containing the file you are attempting to access. If you encounter this error message when attempting to download or upload files, please try again in a few minutes and the problem should be cleared.
Error Code 202
Error code 202 indicates that the browser you are using is having issues opening the file. To fix this issue, please copy and paste the link into a different web browser.
Error Code 213
Error code 213 means that the server that the files are on are temporarily down.Please try again in a few minutes and the problem should be cleared.
Error Code 228
Error code 228 means that the servers that you are trying to access to upload or download files are temporarily down. Please try again in a few minutes and the problem should be cleared.
Error Code 235
If you are receiving this error it means that the file you are trying to access has been corrupted and is no longer available for download. Please re-upload the files or contact the sender to re-share the file with you.
Error Codes 1001-1004
Upload issues are usually caused by a problem on the network and just a small glitch in your connection can cause the upload to stall. Error codes 1001-1004 are codes that you will get when there is a network issue.

You will normally want at least a 1.0Mbps upload connection to ensure a smooth file transfer.
- One last thing that can cause issues is if you are on a wireless connection. Wireless connections are known to have small connection glitches which can cause a file stall and we suggest switching over to a wired connection.
Error Codes 1080
Error code 1080 is caused by a back-end change to our billing system. You will need to contact email@example.com, and provide the following information.

- Screenshot of the error message
Error Code 2045
If you are trying to purchase or upgrade your Hightail account and receive the error code 2045; this indicates that the billing address associated with your credit card is incorrect.
I recommend double checking the billing address and credit card number and try again. If you are still getting the same error code, please contact your credit card company to make sure they have the correct billing address on file.
Error Code 16060
When sharing a folder and adding multiple emails you may experience this error message. This can occur when emails being shared need to be amended. Please look over the emails you are sharing with to ensure they are all correctly entered separated by commas.
