Desktop: Uninstall/Install Error...

Are you getting the the following error messages on your PC?

 

OR

How to fix the error:

  1. Click Start
  2. Search for "%userprofile%/AppData/Local/Hightail" 
  3. Delete the folder from your computer, and try to open the application again. 

*If this does not work; please follow the instructions below.

WINDOWS 7:

  1. Click Start
  2. Type in "regedit" in the search bar
  3. A prompt will come up click "Yes"
  4. Click on the folder titled "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"
  5. Click Software
  6. Find and Delete "Hightail Desktop App" and "Hightail Desktop App Backup"
    After that....
  7. Then go to folder titled "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
  8. Click Software
  9. Find and Delete "Hightail Desktop App"
  10. Try to install the application again.

WINDOWS 8:

  1. Press the Windows logo key  + S to open Search
  2. Type in "regedit" in the search bar
  3. A prompt will come up click "Yes"
  4. Click on the folder titled "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"
  5. Click Software
  6. Find and Delete "Hightail Desktop App" and "Hightail Desktop App Backup"
  7. Then go to folder titled "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
  8. Click Software
  9. Find and Delete "Hightail Desktop App"
  10. Try to install the application again.
