How To Track Sent & Received Files

With Hightail, you can track the status of your files: who has download it, how many times the file has been downloaded and when it was downloaded.

Tracking Files

To track how many times a file you’ve sent has been downloaded, log into your Hightail account, and from the SENDS Tab you'll see all Files Sent and Received:

Choose Sent or Received to see:

  • DateSent
  • Subject
  • Sent to (or Sent by)
  • Content (Files Sent)
  • Visits (Views)
  • Downloads
  • Status (Active or Expired)

Most Received files will show the option to download or delete, unless they were sent by Uplink.

For Sent or Received files with the "three icon dots," they will allow you do the following:

  • View files
  • Track Activity
  • Forward
  • Delete

From the Track Activity window, you will see all tracking details on the file. You will also be able to view and copy the download link. This can be shared directly with others if desired.

Under User Activity, you will be able to view the overall activity occurring on the specific file, such as number of Views and number of Downloads.
