Getting Network Logs from Safari

If you are experiencing issues with Hightail, you can see if errors are being generated in the Developer Tools via the browser console and network logs to help Hightail Support troubleshoot the issue.

Getting Network Logs

To get the console logs, make sure that you are at the part of Hightail that is returning the error and follow these steps:

Enable the developer menu in Safari

  1. In Safari, log in to your Hightail account.
  2. On the Apple Menu Bar, select Safari > Settings (or Preferences).
  3. Select the Advanced tab.
  4. Enable the Show Develop menu in menu bar setting.
  5. Close the Settings window for Safari.

 

Capture a network log

  1. On the Apple Menu Bar, select Develop > Show Web Inspector.
  2. Reproduce the issue you are experiencing.
  3. Once you have captured the issue, return to the Web Inspector window.
  4. Select the Network tab.
  5. Click to select the log file you want, then select Export. Alternatively, you can right-click on the log you want (or press the CTRL key + click) and select Save File.
  6. Enter a name for your file, then select Save.
