File Upload Limits Based on Space Ownership

In Hightail, file upload and storage limits are determined by the space owner’s subscription plan, not by the plan of the followers (collaborators) within that space. This ensures consistent behavior and capacity management across shared environments.

File Upload Limit Per Plan:

Lite: 100MB

Pro: 25GB

Teams: 50GB

Business: 500GB

Behavior and Rules:

The space owner is the user who created the space.

The followers are users who are invited to join or collaborate in that space.

File size and storage limits within a space are governed by the space owner’s plan type.

Followers, regardless of their own plan (Lite, Pro, Teams, Business), will operate under the space owner’s quota when uploading or managing files in that space.

Examples:

Paid owner and Lite follower:
If a paid user owns the space and invites a Lite user, the Lite follower can upload files according to the paid owner’s file size and storage limits.

Lite owner and paid follower:
If a Lite user owns the space and invites a paid user, the Lite owner’s limitations will apply to the space. The paid follower will be restricted to the Lite plan’s upload and storage limits.

Key Point

File and storage limits in a space are always determined by the plan of the space owner. Followers inherit the owner’s limits for all actions performed within that space.
